Our Y Front Utility Harness is designed with both dogs and handlers in mind. Made from Beta Biothane®, this harness offers the durability of leather without the maintenance — it’s waterproof, odour-proof, and easy to clean. At 3/4” wide throughout, it’s lightweight and flexible while still strong enough for everyday use, training, or working dogs.
 
Why it’s awesome:
• The Y-front design allows for full shoulder mobility while distributing pressure safely across the chest.
• The grab handle adds an extra layer of control — perfect for crowded areas, trail assistance, or service dog work.
• Great for active dogs, reactive pups, or dogs needing a bit more support and guidance.
 
Features:
• Fully adjustable at the shoulders, underbelly, and girth for a secure and tailored fit.
• Includes 1x quick release buckle on the girth strap.
• 1x D ring between the shoulders (standard leash attachment point).
• 1x D ring on the back of the girth strap (ideal for tracking or dragging leads).
• Optional: Add a D ring on the chest, or add 2x D rings on the girth strap placed 7" apart (from centre of each d ring) for service dog cape attachment by noting it in the order notes — free of charge!
• Each harness is custom made to your dog’s measurements, with adjustability on either side of their middle size range to allow for growth, layering, or fine-tuning.

Hardware Options
Choose from 6 hardware finishes to suit your style and lifestyle:
1. Stainless Steel – Our strongest and most durable hardware. Rust-proof, scratch-resistant, and ready for all-weather wear.
(Note: Quick-release buckles and lobster clasps in this option are nickel/chrome plated.)
2. Brass – A classic and long-lasting option that develops a natural patina over time. Rust-resistant and ideal for everyday use.
3. Plastic – Lightweight, durable, and surprisingly strong! Plastic hardware is ideal for saltwater adventures as it won’t rust or corrode. It’s also a safer, longer-lasting option than traditional quick-release buckles, especially for dogs who love to swim or live that beach life. Plastic hardware option uses stainless steel rivets, D rings and nickel plated triangle hardware.
4. Black – Matte black steel hardware with a sleek, modern look. A popular fashion finish that may show signs of wear with heavy use.
5. Rose Gold – A beautiful, soft pink-gold finish for a little extra glam. Best suited for light-to-moderate wear.
6. Multichrome (Rainbow) – Eye-catching and full of colour, this fashion hardware option features a vibrant colour-shift finish. Best enjoyed as a statement piece, as it may wear over time with rough use.
 
Note: Stainless steel and brass are our most durable and long-wearing options. Plastic is a functional, long-lasting alternative ideal for saltwater use. Black, rose gold, and multichrome are more fashion-forward choices and best for gentler wear.
 
Want to upgrade your harness?
We also offer the option to upgrade the standard quick-release buckle to a Cobra® buckle — an ultra-strong, military-grade metal buckle that’s known for its durability and security. Unlike traditional quick-release buckles, Cobra buckles are weight-rated, less prone to accidental release, and ideal for working dogs or dogs who need extra reliability on lead.
 
The Cobra® buckle has a smooth, modern design with a matte finish that resists scratches and is weather-resistant. Its unique locking mechanism ensures that the buckle only releases when you really want it to - by pressing two side buttons. This eliminates the risk of accidental disconnection. All Cobra® buckles come in black.
