At Bowie & Co., every piece of gear is handmade to order — lovingly crafted from scratch, just for you (and your dog, who we assume is a 12/10 good girl or boy). Because of the time, care, and cost that goes into each order, we don’t accept cancellations once your order has been placed.
Here’s the full lowdown on why we operate this way — and what to do if something needs changing.

🧵 1. Your Order = Fully Custom Chaos (In the Best Way)
Most items are custom — whether you’ve chosen a personalised nameplate, a custom two-tone combo, or that very particular hardware finish you were dreaming about at 2am. Once the order is placed, we’re already:
• Cutting Biothane to size
• Engraving name tags
• Assembling components
• Or sometimes even custom-ordering hardware just for you 👷♀️
Once we’ve started, there’s no going back (and no refund or cancellation possible).

🕒 2. We Start Fast — Like, Alarmingly Fast
We pride ourselves on a fast turnaround, which means your order might already be in production within hours — and sometimes minutes — of you placing it 🐾⚡️
So if you need to make a change — whether it’s a colour, hardware, size, width, or you’ve had a “wait… what did I just order?” moment — you need to let us know within 24 hours.

🔁 3. Changes Must Be Sent Immediately (And Clearly)
If you spot a mistake (wrong colour, hardware, size, etc.), please email or message us right away. Don’t wait a few days. Don’t assume we’ve seen your Instagram DM. And please don’t message across five different platforms — we beg you 🙃
💌 Double-check your confirmation email after placing your order — this is your golden opportunity to catch any errors. If something’s wrong, message us immediately with your order number and what needs changing.
If we haven’t started production yet, we’ll do our best to make the adjustment. But if we have already begun your order, we won’t be able to make changes unless a new fee is applied — because…

💸 4. Every Change Costs Us Time & Materials
Even the smallest change — like switching hardware colours or adding a D-ring — means extra time, extra materials, and sometimes redoing the entire piece. That’s not just frustrating, it’s costly.
Every rivet, every D-ring, every inch of BioThane… it adds up fast 💰
And if we’re already mid-build and haven’t seen your message until later in the day, it may be too late to make the change — especially if we’re elbows-deep in your dog’s future collar while trying not to mix up 50 orders at once 😅
